Racquets are available to kids 10 and under for an
additional $10
What is Junior Team Tennis: Junior Team Tennis allows kids to
play tennis as a team sport. Kids are placed on teams where
they play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles against other
teams of similar age and skill level.
Who can play? This program is for any kid from 6 years old to
18. There are divisions for kids who’ve never held a tennis
racquet, just as there are divisions for kids who regularly travel
the state to compete in tournaments.
Age divisions:
QuickStart League: 8 and under, 10 and under
11 and Older League: 12 and under, 14 and under and
18 and under (Each age division has a beginner,
intermediate and advanced division)
What is QuickStart Tennis? The QuickStart format uses
modified, age appropriate courts, racquets and tennis balls for
kids 10 years old and younger. It allows even the youngest
participants to establish control and rally during their matches.
11-18 year old Beginners - Lessons will be provided on
Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 by the Lamar Men’s and Women’s
tennis team and coaches!
Volunteers: Parental participation is necessary to the success of
this program. The USTA will provide training to parents who
volunteer.
Coaches Meeting (11 and older) - Wednesday Sept. 21, 2011
Quickstart Coaches and Parent Training - TBA
Teams practice once a week at a time designated by their team
coach. League Matches will be played on Saturdays.
